www.eslisland.com/

According to the site itself this is “The Ultimate Guide to Teaching English, Living and Traveling in Taiwan” - so they say. Clean, fast site with useful info for foreigners. Seems to be current. (Not sure, how well maintained the site is. Forum is loaded with spam for viagra, cialis and hard porn. Long time no visit from moderator who cares.)

Mindful Phoenix - provides some cultural activities, like theater, exhibitions, dance classes etc. Website not very informational. At the time of this writing the only info there is a 1 MB image announcing an Improv League event. Loads in around 20 seconds.

www.springscream.com
Web site of the Springscream band festival in Kenting in Southern Taiwan. Interesting, though not overly infomative. The festival takes place on April 5, 6, 7 and ‘a little bit of’ 8. Registration deadline for 2007 is February 20.

www.taipeitimes.com
Taiwan daily newspaper in English language. Access is free, but online news are delayed by a half day and there is no ‘Classifieds’ section.

www.taiwanease.com
Taiwanease (note the -ease) is an ambitious, roughly bi-weekly, English language magazine geared towards foreigners in Taiwan. The web site is definitely under construction - nobody knows for how long. And the magazine ... there are others with the same target group. Something to watch.
